Windows 7 Lite

Windows Vista and Windows 7 are related products, some users would even go so far to describe Windows 7 as an update to Windows Vista. One aspect that could fuel these rumors is that it is possible to use the application Vlite on Windows 7. Vlite is a software program that can create a new Windows Vista installation DVD by removing parts that the user does not want to include in the operating system. The very same program recognizes Windows 7 as Windows Vista and is therefor compatible with it.

A video has been posted to Youtube that demonstrates the whole process. While it is possible to create a Windows 7 Lite installation with Vlite everyone should understand that Vlite has not been specifically designed to work with Windows 7. This could lead to errors or not-working installations if the wrong components are selected for removal.

I dont get it.. filling your HDD with crap.. gadgetsimage viewermovie maker etc does not make your coumputer any slower if you dont use them… Vlite is only usefull in you want to save HDD space or brake the OS

The bloat itself in Windows also brakes it. vLite gives us an opprtunity to fix several Microsoft mistakes.

In Windows even unused crap often slows it down because it’s not seperate modular like Linux and the other sane systems.

The system gets lite ,removal of security center and gadgets makes a quiet system that runs really good..besides i tested othis lite version on a pentium 3 with 1000mhz and only 375mb ram..and guess what?..It runs really nice ofcourse are glass and theme disabled and sustem is set to performance theme..so it looks like an upgraded windows 95 but with all the benefits of windows seven (without the goodlooking parts that hugs memory and internet connection)

      Dear Sharoon..
I will try and look again cause it’s been a while that i did this .
I will make a lite version of the 7600 rtm and i think you tried to
set the license or went into that section.
What i can remember is that you can only select stuff for removal do not go to the
activation part.dont pit in username etc leave that part dont select it when starting
vlite. Also get vlite 1.1 first (search it on rapidshare) ..then install it ..after that you install the updated vlite from http://www.vlite.net on top of it..dont uninstall the 1.1 version.
This will give you the benefit that you wont have to download WAIk a 900mb download that is needed when you dont install 1.1 first(something with rights issue)
I will keep you updated , Good luck
      Regards Studio48
