I am not happy about having to pay for windows 7,I purchased my pc in May 2009 only to find that you get a free upgrade from June!This is unfair,considering they only started advertising it in Oct 2009!!Also vista is not the best,especially when I bought some cracking games for windows XP only to find that I could not play them on vista without being a computer wizz-kid with all the techy stuff you have to go through to make the games run.Come on microsoft lok after your loyal customers.

What about us suckers that bought Vista garbage before this July 1 we are screwed. I’m still using my XP but my daughter is using Vista and she hates the piece of crap, but it came with the computer. I can’t install XP on her computer so now we have to buy 7 if we want a less annoying OS. I am happy with my XP once all the service packs were out it runs great. But of course once microsoft gets an OS working good they abandon it to make a new one so they can make more money. Greedy pieces of ****.

Microsoft is only going to do what makes there VIPS money come on people the only way you are going to get some thing done about this , is rebel , get together and start mailing any thing and every thing you can find , that you do not like or does not work wright and send it to them . Ship it , mail it or walk it in to there office any way you can get it there will work . Now don’t let this be like every thing else in this screwed up world we live in . Every body BITCHES about some thing but doe nothing about it , every body that is pist off needs to come together to make a point big enough to where they will do some thing or at least try to do some thing about it . Every time they design another program they screw some one weather they care or not , example 95 – 98 — 98 – 2000 — 2000 – millenium — xp all versions , some one got screwed on all of them it may not of been on per-pose but it still happened . Now and till people start speaking up again they have every one of us that does not have a lot of MONEY BY THE BALLS (come on computers are not cheap are they) . I call them money hungry pigs . I can not even get to xp pro let along the NEW WINDOWS7 . As much money as this company makes they sure do a lot of SCREWING ……….OH AND THE NEW INTERNET EXPLORER I THINK IT SUCKS 2 JUST LIKE VISTA . I have purchased a couple of Dell PCs in the last year but only one was bought during the qualifying period for the Windows 7 upgrade. I’ve registered for the free upgrade disc but I would ideally like to install this on the first PC I purchased rather than the one which qualified for the upgrade. Does anyone know if it’s okay to install the upgrade on this PC instead?

Microsoft is bullshitting about this upgrade. It should have been anyone who purchased a pc in 2009… I bought mine in april so i dnt get a free upgrade… Vista is the stupidest OS ever fucking built……. Screw you Microsoft. BTW if they still wnt let me have the upgrade im returnin my pc.

Have a Dell 410 XPS purchased new with a “Windows XP sticker” on front 7/21/07, it was supposed to have a “Vista Premium sticker” on front. oops! There’s an Ultimate Vista 32-bit software installed on PC purchased new and from day one I have been waiting for an update too Fix a slow responding 410 XPS PC. Who will help me fix this PC: Dell, MICROSOFT?? Who??

totally unacceptable, i buy the pre- installed vista laptop for only 3 months and now they say only offer upgrade for whoever buy it after 1 july -.-” so that;s mena i need to get another money for the windows 7 wtf, how about microsoft just offer a cheaper price for us to upgrade rather then paying full stupid [rice for a brand new window? cause vista is slow like hell and not good to use at all

QQ? Think of this from a buisness standpoint: They have your money already. You already bought what the are selling. The folks they are targeting now are people who will give them more money — and many of these people won’t give them thier money until they are getting Windows 7. Do the math — make them happy = profit. make you happy = 0 profit.

Besides, vista wasn’t that bad. I personally didn’t touch it till SP 1 came out (like I’ve done with every single microsoft OS since Windows 95). It was a memory hog and laid out different than people were “used to” — but it introduced some new concepts, ran very well if you weren’t cheap and bought good computer parts, I personally liked the security improvements (which also could use some tweaking — see windows 7), and of course, was “prettier.”

Complain all you want. You may not agree with how Microsoft does things, but obviously they did something right–being a multibillion dollar corporation and having all the market share they do. Just a piece of advice for the future — instead of switching to a new OS on a whim because you heard cool things… take the time to research it’s capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses — before wasting money on an OS you don’t quite need at the time.
