For many users, (unless they live in the UK where there are postal strikes) tomorrow will be the first time many users will receive their copy of Windows 7. Out of the box, Windows 7 needs very little configuring, but here are 10 things you can do get even more out of your new operating system:
- Setup a Windows 7 Homegroup
- Download a Windows 7 Theme. If you need help, then read this guide to installing Windows 7 Themes
- Make Windows 7 Faster
- Read our guides to configuring the amazing Windows 7 Taskbar
- Read 7 ways to make Windows 7 faster
- Make Windows 7 Search Better
- Remove all the ‘crap‘ from your new Windows 7 installation
- Setup Windows 7 Libraries
- Enable Windows 7 Aero Features
- How To Use Windows 7 Federated Search

Since I first ordered Win 7 I created a folder to collect all of the downloads, updates and upgrades, tips & tricks I need or may want when I receive my disc. All I have to do after I install is open the folder and finish tweaking.
What about configuring the system backup? Should be Step 1 IMHO
not sure what you’d have to lose that early on in an installation!
