Stats from NetApplications who track internet usage seems to suggest that only a month after its launch, Windows 7′s market share has reached 5%. Over the course of November 09 Windows 7 based machines accounted for 4% of overall monitored web traffic, however by the end of the month Windows 7 share was 5% on a daily basis. In comparison, Mac OS X’s share fell from 5.27% to 5.12%.
The share of other Windows OSs may show that many Windows XP users are upgrading to Windows 7. Over the same period:
- Windows XP share fell 1.43%
- Windows Vista fell 0.28%
A probable explanation is that XP users who have the most to gain from upgrading to Windows 7 have been driving the recent spike in PC sales. Whatever the explanation, the early numbers for Windows 7 adoption back up the theory that Microsoft have a winner in Windows 7 and not a lemon like Windows Vista

I knew that Windows 7 will become Microsoft’s best operating system. It’s better then Vista and XP. Windows XP is old and outdated and not secure. Windows Vista is not good but has nice user interface and more secure. Windows 7 is a better user interface and even more secure. It looks like not much people are using Snow Leopard. I heard that Snow Leopard has even more problems then Windows 7. hahahaha! You think that Apple makes products will be 100% perfect and bugfree? Of course not! Somewhat is that after Snow Leopard has been released around the last week of Aug 2009. There was no increase of market share. I hate Linux. It has no support.
Windows can be costly but purchasing a PC with Windows is a big difference. One example to show you is that in the Black Friday in Best Buy. There was a $197.00 HP laptop PC. However, one bad part about it is that it uses a since core CPU. However, there are many cheap PC with Windows 7 you can buy. A PC with 6GB of RAM can also cost cheap, possibly around $500. Cheap PC makers such as Emachines and also HP’s low end PC would be the Compaq brand. Compaq is still here even though it has merge with HP.
