Windows 7 SP1 Screenshots Leaked

A few screenshots purporting to be our first glimpse into an installable version of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 were released today on a Spanish site called Muy Windows. Let me sum everything up for those of you who don’t speak Spanish: There’s not a lot to see here just yet, and what we can see doesn’t reveal much we don’t already know.

From what the shots show, getting a Windows 7 service pack will be pretty much identical to getting a service pack in Windows Vista – it’s delivered through Windows Update, and the installation process is the same, as is the branding. The screen shots are below:

Again, this process appears to be nearly identical to the install process for Windows Vista service packs. According to Muy Windows, the build number for the service pack is between 7600.20500 and 20700. We know that the service pack delivers a number of security updates, but little else of what it will bring.

There is speculation that SP1 will introduce support for USB 3 and improved wireless connectivity. Windows 7 News will continue to pass on information as we find it.

I expect that Windows 7 SP1, will bring support to USB 3.0. Also I’m expecting that it will bring support to PCI 3.0 and maybe support to new Bluetooth? Improvements to Wireless connectivity will be good as well. Other improvements I wanted to expect is to fix compatibility issues between Windows 7 and 1TB hard drive, improvements to compatibility issues with hardware and software, fixes to bugs such as crashes in Windows 7, more improvements to startup and shut down, and even more better performance.

Did you just say “more better performance”?
