Windows 7 Personalization: New Themes

Microsoft has once again made available new Windows 7 themes and desktop backgrounds in their personalization gallery. One of the biggest improvements over previous operating systems is the improved personalization in Windows 7. Basic themes can now be created by anyone and shared with friends, family and colleagues. We call them basic themes because of their limitation to only changing the color scheme, desktop backgrounds, sounds and screensaver opposed to full themes that require system file patching but offer to change basically any element of the operating system in return.

The four new themes that are now available for download at the personalization gallery are Cats Everywhere, Dogs in Summer, Valentine and Year of the Tiger.

Each theme comes with multiple desktop backgrounds, a custom color scheme and sounds. The themes can be easily installed by double-clicking on the file after it has been downloaded to the computer system.

You can download the new themes by clicking on the links below or by visiting Microsoft’s personalization gallery.

Observant visitors will also notice new desktop backgrounds that have been added to the gallery on the Microsoft website. These extra backgrounds can be downloaded from there as well. They can either be added to an existing theme or a new theme.
