How to Change Your Library Icons

Windows 7 is customizable in so many ways it is sometimes daunting to new users and experienced users alike. Changing wallpapers, themes, window properties, fonts, sizes and icons are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to making your copy of Windows 7 look and feel the way you want it to. Some of the customization options are built right into the OS and some are made available by developers via third-party applications. Library Icon Changer is one of those apps.

I use libraries in Windows 7 about as much as I use my web browser, which is quite a lot. And while it is very simple to change a programs icon in Windows 7, it’s not well-known how to do so with library icons. There is an easy way and a more-difficult way of doing this and I’ll share the easy way, of course.

Best of all, there is no program to install. Library Icon Changer by DeviantArt is a portable tool which is unzipped and run from wherever it’s stored. The interface is simple and if you change an icon and decide you would prefer to revert back to the original, there is a Restore Default Icon button.

You can download the portable app here.

Simply, unzip and double-click the icon to open the small program.

To change an icon, first select the library in the right window pane. You will then choose the icon from the left window pane or select an icon from a file.icon1 How to Change Your Library Icons

That’s all there is to it. your library icons should now be changed. I’m trying to find someone who has created more library icons that look like the current ones provided with Windows 7. I’ve Googled and have found little. If anyone know where I might look , please let me know in the comments below. Good Luck.

I found “Librarian” application is more useful for that task. It also provides other cool features. Librarian homepage is http://winreview.ru/Nashi-razrabotki/108/Librarian.-Utilita-upravleniya-bibliotekami-Windows-7
