Windows 8 Aero Light UI Revealed

We are seeing more leaks of upcoming Windows 8 screenshots in the past month than in the whole year before. It is not clear what caused the increase in leaks, could be additional beta testers, that new features have been integrated recently or that Microsoft’s Guerrilla marketing campaign has started.

The latest leak shows three screenshots of a new Aero Light interface. It is not clear yet if the interface will make it in this form into the final product, but it could be that the interface will be succeeding the Aero Basic interface of Windows 7.

Aero Lite in Windows 8 will probably be the standard fallback theme if the computer is not capable of displaying all the graphical effects of the full Aero theme. Please note that the theme is still listed under Windows 7 Basic in the screenshots which may indicate that Aero Lite is just used internally for development purposes. Another indication of an early release is the fact that the themes are still showing up as Windows 7 themes.

The first screenshot reveals a new feature that no other news source seems to have mentioned up until now. The basic theme under Windows 7 does not support thumbnail preview images of programs in the taskbar, the new Aero Lite theme seems to support those.

As you can see that. It’s still in an early Windows 7-era operating system. Windows 8 will be all different by the time it releases. It’s just like developing a car. There is a concept. You might have seen concept cars out in auto shows. But, the final release of the car is different from the concept. It would be great once Windows 8 hits beta. Download it and try it. If you found any problems, send the feedback to Microsoft and they will fix it in RC.

There are numerous reasons to leave XP. I have no idea why people are still so attached to it.

One of the big reasons nate is COMPATIBILITY and SUPPORT! Even I am not ditching Windows XP because it has been the most stable since its a decade old. Windows Vista and 7 has lasted only for 3-4 years and STILL it is not fully compatible than XP is now.

there will be time that xp would feel like windows 98 in some time in the future. don’t get so much excited. 🙂

You obviously haven’t tried Windows 7, you just hopped on to the stupid post-XP hate bandwagon to be cool or something else silly.

Didn’t fancy using more than three gigs of memory then?

windows 7 is the new stable os, windows xp is stable too, so when it comes to stability they are the same but which is better, the new or the old one?

I just hope MS doesn’t make the mistake
to substitute Windows 8 Aero graphical interface
with the Metro UI of Windows Phone 7.

Doing so will make Windows 3.1 look nicer than Windows 8
or.. for the sake of simplicity let’s kill beauty by making everything squares.

It is too early for all of us to switch to Windows 8. I mean come on, I have switched to Windows 7 since Last Year and this OS released should be postponed to 5 years from now.
