I’m very happy to be able to announce that in addition to writing for Microsoft Press, I’m very happy to be able to announce that I’ve now signed with a second publisher. Fair Trade Digital Exchange “is a digital-first publisher with a simple mission: To create an unshakable and equitable partnership with the best authors in the business.”
I’m joining a collection of authors at Fair Trade Digital Exchange including fellow Microsoft Press author, and ZD Net blogger Ed Bott. The publisher say of their authors…
Our authors are experts. They’re hard-working, creative, and experienced. They’ve written, blogged, tweeted, and published successfully more times than they can count. They’re ready to share the work, the risks, AND the rewards that come from creating and promoting their FTDX books and products to their audience.
I will be writing a series of short eBooks for the publisher aimed at small to medium-sized businesses beginning with Office 365 Security to be out at the end of this year. The book will cover all aspects of using Microsoft’s new cloud business productivity suite safely and securely, and additionally cover how to keep your workplace and your ICT equipment safe and secure. Pricing has yet to be finalised.
All my works for FTDX will be eBooks and one or two are likely to follow by the end of 2011, or will instead be released in early 2012.
In other news my ongoing relationship with Microsoft Press is all set to continue and big news will be announced shortly about projects for release during 2012, though alas I’m not allowed to formally announce anything yet. Suffice to say it will be incredibly exciting and the only thing I’m actually allowed to say at this point is that I won’t be writing a Windows 8 Power Users Guide to follow my self-published Windows 7 Powers Users Guide that I released in 2009. Watch this space for more news.
