The photography Artist Hengki24 has a gallery of black and white photographs. Below is a sample of those pictures.
According to Hengki photography is not just a way of expressing his most inner soul but also creating a window to the world where through his pictures the unseen and the unspoken can be grasped. Viewers of his art will see a dominant area of nature. That is no accident. Driven by the desire to explore the mystical beauty of nature, Hengki develops his sense and sensibility by examining the art in new ways through the elements of fine art photography. His freedom of expression is more reflected in the elaboration and exploration of black and white.
His view of photography is that it can never be separated from making the ordinary seem extra-ordinary, or of making the common things look unusual. In this way he welcomes the unexpected by looking at ordinary objects and then indulging and embracing those features in new ways. All of this is possible by taking an ordinary object and making it appear extraordinary and as such as making viewers believe that anything is possible.
Born in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, on March 24, 1963, Hengki Koentjoro is a reputation as an accomplished black and white photographer. He is a graduate of the Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, California, with a major in video production and a minor in fine art of photography. Although he studied in the US, Hengki returned to Indonesia to become a freelance videographer/editor, specializing in nature documentaries and corporate profiles, and now lives in Jakarta with his wife Lana and their three children. Hengki is a part time practitioner of the art of black and white photography, which he believes to be his true purpose in life’s journey of expression.
