I’m sure the vast majority of our readers have downloaded the Windows 8 Consumer Preview and installed it by now, so you all know what the new Metro UI is like. The Metro UI is very well optimised for use on tablets, and I’m sure that there’s plenty of jealous Android tablet users out there who would love to be able to try it out for themselves.
Well now you can! With a little bit of work you will be able to install a Windows 8 Metro theme that’s been specially created for rooted Android tablets by XDA member BroBot175 . If your tablet is running either Ice Cream Sandwich or Honeycomb you’ll be able to install it.
As you can see from the screenshot above, it’s quite similar to the Windows 8 Metro UI, but the color scheme and a few other things have been tweaked slightly. None the less it’s still a pretty cool theme that looks like it is definitely worth trying out.
However it’s important to remember that this isn’t as simple as just downloading an app and away you go. This mod is probably more suited to users who are comfortable with rooting their Android tablet and installing a custom ROM.
