So you’ve finally got your copy of the Windows 8 Release Preview installed on your PC, but the crazy fast startup times for the new OS are lost on you because you’re constantly interrupted at startup to enter your logon password or pin. If you’re a user like me, then you probably want your PC to boot straight to the Start screen without being prompted for your Microsoft Account password. This is a quick guide on how to make Windows 8 automatically log you in without having to enter your password each time.
Note: If you use a public computer, I’d advise not removing your password for access, especially if you store personal or confidential information.
You will begin by searching for the keyword “netplwiz” either on your Start screen or from the run cmd.
The next step involves unchecking the box labeled “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer” and click OK.
Enter your current password twice to confirm and click OK.
That’s it! You have successfully removed password entry when Windows starts.
