I’ve been using Windows 7 for several month without problem. However, today I connected my Canon IXUS 700 camera vis usb only to find that Windows 7 is unable to find a device driver. Canon has no drivers for the camera as the drivers should be built into Windows 7. Has there been an update which has caused this? What can I do?  Thanks.

Same problem here – running Windows 7 since December, no problems downloading from Canon EOS Rebel.  Today, I get unable to find device driver.

I had a similar problem with my camera when I bought my new desktop a few years ago. It was USB but the computer was unable to find it. My suppliers suggested a USB card giving me another couple of USB connections might be the way to go. It was. The new card found it with no problems and the exisiting USB connections work quite well with other devices. In fact my new scanner works with any of the USB connections.
