Rumor:  Windows7 is not a new operating system.  It is nothing more than a rebadged cleaned up Vista so that Microsoft can dump the Vista name that has received so much negative PR.

Call it a pit bull with lipstick to use a recent political quote.
Or Vista in a shiny new box and a new name.

Well…
I think Vista is just a beta of Windows 7 xD.
Because Windows 7 is very fast with releasing a beta and stuff too.

Think of it like OSX.

We had Windows Vista, now we have Windows 7. Its a "new os" but the core is mostly the same, just cleaned up.

I don’t care if it’s just a clean up of Vista and I don’t care about the political thing.

I’m using Windows 7 build 7000 and I’m very pleased with it.
I can feel that it’s faster and snappier than my old setup with XP.
Surely it’s way much better than Vista.

the idea of vista was very good it just didnt perform the way it should’ve but for someone who has computers currently using xp vista and 7 i am very pleased with it. i personally never had any problems with my vista business and find that it works very well with my resources (of course i have a high performance pc). Windows 7 is the same idea but is less stressful to your computer. the new toolbar is kind of cool i guess <!– s:P –><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif" alt=":P" title="Tongue" /><!– s:P –> i dont think it ever shouldve changed i dont want to see windows turning into a mac os :@ but to someone who says 7 is still stressful on your comp ive ran it virtualized with low amounts of ram and it still ran surprisingly well. i love it cheers to windows

Microsoft stopped supporting Win2K awhile back.&nbsp; Stopped making updates for it, anyway.&nbsp; This was shortly before the USA changed the dates when daylight savings time begins and ends, so Win2K doesn’t do that right anymore.&nbsp; Neither does Win98 for similar reasons.

Anyway, it forced a lot of companies to move up from Win2K to WinXP, or from Win2K to Win2K3…

I have been a bit nasty towards Windows 7 lol I must admit it has potential at least I’ve got people to post stuff, but seriously what version of Windows 7 are people using because I cant even do the simplest thing in Windows 7 7000 x64 without it all crashing and having to physically press the restart button that’s why I say my highly optimised XP x64 Is so much faster and better.

I think I figured out why I was having such a bad experience with windows 7, yea your right DRIVERS, being a noob I installed magic disk and also attempted to install daemon tools for all me pirated stuff which caused the whole OS to suck balls and also I think the antivirus caused it to slow down too, after reinstalling the OS for the forth time I have to admit its a lot faster then XP in some ways, I can see myself using it in the future but not right now as I can’t install much software as most things are incompatible and there are still quite a few bugs, but yea in some ways I prefer it over XP.

Tip: don’t try and install any CD mounting tools that are not designed for it and also don’t use CCleaner on window 7.

Oh that’s cool does that mounting tool work for x64? Ill have to try it out when I get home, the advice on CCleaners forums is not to use CCleaner on Windows 7 as it’s not designed for that OS and can delete some keys that it’s not supposed to.
