Title kinda says it all.
I got a bunch of dvds I ripped to my hard drive, in "folder" format (.vobs’s, .ifo’s, etc).
media center finds them and displays info but when I try to play them it just comes up and
says I need to install additional software.
I thought win 7 was supposed to support dvd’s out of the box?
I’d rather not install other players if I dont have to, trying to keep this install clean and light.
so what are my options here?
Thanks

interesting. I’m currently ripping a few hundered moves (that’s right, TBs of space) as folders (vob files) and my media center plays them with no problem and I didn’t have to install any extra software. it sucks my 360 media extender won’t play them though <!– s:( –><!– s:( –> I found a way around it though. i’m just hooking a pc with a HDMI and optical out to my tv. <!– s:) –><!– s:) –>

I’m going to be installing windows7 on another pc here soon so I’ll test it and let you know the result of playing vob files.
