Another month, another set of Smashing Magazines brilliant calendar wallpapers. This month we’ve got 26 great calendar wallpapers to spice up your desktop which come courtesy of Smashing Magazine as usual.

They’ve had graphic designers from all over the web submit these fantastic wallpapers. Some of the wallpapers carry a bit of April fools fun, others reflect the Spring season and Easter, but in general they all just look pretty cool. And with 26 wallpapers, you’ll be able to have a different one everyday this month!

Guess what! With the official unveiling of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview less than an hour away, Win8China have leaked all the new wallpapers and lockscreens in the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 to us. I know I covered a story yesterday on this, but we didn’t have as many wallpapers then.

Chances are you will all be able to see these wallpapers for yourself later on today when you Download Windows 8, ,but here’s a teaser to what you’ll see.

There’s not long to go now, in about 24 hours time, Microsoft will be officially unveiling the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 in Barcelona tomorrow. Microsoft have interestingly decided to reveal Windows 8 at the Mobile World Congress which is currently under way there. This really goes to show Microsoft’s dedication to pushing out Windows 8 to portable devices like tablets instead of the traditional PC set up.

I know that we will all be able to get our hands on the consumer preview pretty soon, but there’s been a few leaks popping up on the web recently from people who’ve managed to get their hands on it sooner than others. Apparently the Consumer Preview has been uploaded to Microsoft’s servers over the last few days.

I’m sure we will probably find that there is plenty of wallpapers that will be available in the consumer preview.

Another interesting screenshot I came across is of the icon for the hard drive. As you can see below, it appears to have the new Windows 8 Logo on top of the hard drive icon. My reckoning is that Microsoft will display the Windows 8 logo on the drive which has the actual Windows 8 OS installed on it, I can’t see them placing this logo on all the drives connected to your computer if you have more than one.

Well there’s just a few teasers for you now to get you in the mood for the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.

Hopefully from tomorrow you will get to see a lot more screenshots as well as be able to install the Consumer Preview yourself.

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview can’t be too far away now. We’ve had loads of leaks to do with Windows 8 which you can read all about over at our sister site Windows 8 News. Recently there was a few leaked screenshots from the Consumer Preview build of Windows 8 which hasn’t been made available to the public yet. Along with those screenshots came some wallpapers that are set to be made available in the consumer preview of Windows 8.

I know that you guys love the huge range of wallpapers that we have here at Windows7news, so I decided to get the wallpapers from the Windows 8 Consumer Preview  to add to our extensive collection.

The first one is actually the same as the log on wallpaper for Windows 7, the others are new as best as I can make out. There’s also 2 widescreen wallpapers which I imagine would be for multi monitor displays.

Windows 8 has been revealed yesterday by Microsoft on the Build Conference. The two hour long keynote was streamed live on the Internet, and is now available as a recording for users who may have missed it. We have already covered a lot Windows 8 wise, for instance how to install Windows 8, where to download the Windows 8 ISOs. We have also answered the most popular questions that you had regarding the new operating system.

With every Microsoft operating system, even with preview, beta and release candidate releases, come new wallpapers and other personalization files. Below are all wallpaper images that Microsoft has used in the presentation of the developer preview of Windows 8.

Six of the seven wallpapers have a resolution of 1920×1200, one a resolution of 1600×500.It is likely that Microsoft will continue to publish wallpapers for the new operating system when it comes out, just like they did with Windows 7.

We’ve had a couple of different Windows 8 themes and wallpapers now on Windows8news. But this time I think I’ve got the best solution for you all. I’m sure most of you cannot wait until Microsoft release the first beta for Windows 8, but I’m afraid that’s still a long way off. However we have been given brief glimpses at what Windows 8 will look like, between the new Tablet UI and the leaked builds that we’ve seen. Based on all these leaks Windowsxlive have managed to come up with a great little package that will make your desktop look and feel just like Windows 8.

It’s called Windows 8 UX Pack 2.0 and it basically skins Windows 7 to give it the distinctive look and feel of Windows 8. This also includes the new tablet UI which is achieved by using the Metro theme which we’ve mentioned here before.

What’s really handy about this pack is it’s all in it’s own installer package so you only have to run one installer and it does the rest for you. Much easier than downloading and installing all the various separate components yourself.

It’ll even let you choose from various different options when installing the skin so you can customise it to your liking. Then a couple of moments after you hit install, your computer should have the look and feel of Windows 8. Your wallpaper will have changed, you’ll notice your user icon in the bottom right corner and everything will have a slightly flatter theme to it.

Don’t forget about that Tablet UI, to get it you need to click and swipe in from the right corner (or at least that’s what did it for me). You’ll find there’s a whole load of options which you can play around with.

And then once you’ve had enough with this new skin, simply run the installer again but this time choose uninstall and everything should return to normal.

Here are some new Windows8 Wallpapers. As interest is beginning to grow over the new Operating System, even Microsoft is not holding back. Build releases have made it out. Steve Ballmer officially calls the next installment Windows 8.

A lot of attention right now is taking place, although mostly rumors about what it will or won’t contain. For example, there are reports that Microsoft is bringing the Office “ribbon” interface and this will supposedly make Windows more  tablet-ready. Other reports claim that Windows8 will also get a ”History Vault” feature, which is similar to Apple’s Time Machine, which gives users a simple way to back up and restore their computer’s applications, data and settings. In addition there is talk about is a system reset feature that will allow a computer to be reset to its original factory settings. But even if half the rumors are true, it will be an exciting product. Enjoy some of these new wallpapers.

To celebrate the launch of Windows 7 and (hopefully) the start of some news from Microsoft on Windows 8, Windows 7 Themes have pulled together a mega pack of 1250 Windows 8 Wallpapers:

The wallpaper package includes a lot of different wallpapers: dual-screen, panorama (ultra-wide wallpaper), firefox, mac, windows vista and 7, cars, nature, underwater scenes, gaming, 3D, CG, sexy babes, etc.

1250 Windows 8 Wallpapers takes up quite a lot of filespace, so the authors have pulled together a torrent to make it easier to download the wallpapers.
